Billy Crystal talks "Monsters University"

The L.A. Times caught up with Billy Crystal last week, and Monsters U. came up in the convo.

Here's what he had to say:

"It’s really a great script, it’s really funny. That’s why I’m a little hoarse. I spent five-and-a-half hours today for our fourth session,” says the actor/comedian, who reprises his role as Mike Wazowski in the Monsters, Inc. prequel.

"This movie ends where the other one starts. It’s college pranks with monsters. And I wear a retainer. Mike has a retainer"

You can read Crystal's complete comments over at the Times' Hero Complex.

Monsters University releases in theaters June 21, 2013.

Toy Story Triology on Blu-Ray 3D

My Goodness..............it's been a while since i posted on here....... my apologies....

Anywho.......if you like 3D, then your in for a surprise;

Introducing the DVD Blu-ray 3D box set of all three Toy Story movies. You can either get them that way, or buy each one individually. Point beng, is that they are now available to watch in blu-ray 3D.

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing many other pixar films (Finding Nemo, Wall-E, etc.) update to DVD blu-ray 3D in the future. This 3D will certainly be a trend.

This releases on Noember 1st, the same day that Cars 2 releases on dvd.
Amazon has it listed for pre-order.

Check out the new image still featuring McQueen with both of the Topolinos. The Topolinos are the uncle and aunt of Guido. McQueen and the rest of his pit crew gang stay at their home for the World Grand Prix race in Italy. Vanessa Redgrave will perform the voice of Mama Topolino, while famed actress Sophia Loren will perform the voice of her in non-english versions of Cars 2 in italian............Why not just have Sophia voice Mama for the english version!!!! Sophia is a better fit for the part in my opinion rather Mrs. Redgrave, who by the way, is also voicing the Queen......

Cars 2 Character: Crabby the Boat

Pixar has released another new character in Cars 2: Crabby the Boat. You may remember him from the beginning of the Cars 2 trailer out on the ocean carrying Finn McMissile. He will be voiced by Sig Hansen, the actual Captain of the Northwestern boats on his Discovery TV Show "Deadliest Catch". Crabby's whole design is based after Sig Hansen's boats, with the word Northwestern on his sides and the initials in the front "SH", standing for Sig Hansen's father named Sverre Hansen, who built the Northwestern boat.

Official Description:
Unfortunately, that hasn't been released yet.

But in the meantime, check out this video clip of Crabby in the ocean. He may be a small boat compared to others, but his wise confidence makes up for it...........

Cars 2: Soundtrack Details Released

On June 14th, the Cars 2 soundtrack will be available for purchase on CD and digital download. Today, we are learning new details of the songs that will be on it. Just like the original Cars soundtrack, Cars 2 will feature both songs and original songs made for the film. Brad Paisley who worked on the first Cars, will return with two new songs for Cars 2, working with Robbie Williams, a well known Britain recording song artist who has sold 57 billion albums worldwide.

Beginning with the Cars 2 "Original Songs":

The first song is called "Collision of Worlds" written and performed as a duet by Brad and Robbie. Robbie says "It's an international kind of song that's inspired by very much of the film - it wouldn't exist if it weren't for the story. Brad turned up with his guitar and a basic understanding of what he wanted the song to sound like. He played me a few chords and we noodled and twiddled our way into forming this song. It’s back and forth colloquialisms between two different countries speaking the same language and not understanding each other—until now".

The second song is called "Nobody's Fool", written and performed by Brad. “It’s inspired by the most heartbreaking scene in the movie,” says Paisley. “Mater realizes that everybody thinks he’s playing the fool and he becomes sort of enlightened and realizes that he’s not playing the fool—he is one. But Mater realizes he is who he is and that was inspiring to me.”

Other songs that will be on the soundtrack, include Japanese girl band Perfume’s hit single “Polyrhythm” when Lightning and Mater attend the World Grand Prix opening night gala in Tokyo. Giacchino also wrote a French song called “Mon coeur fait vroum,” (“My Heart Goes Vroom”) which is sung for the film by the popular and admired French singer/songwriter Bénabar, providing a musical introduction to Paris. The lyrics for the song are by Giacchino and Scott Langteau with French adaptation by Boualem Lamhene. Bénabar’s self-titled album, released in 2001, launched a phenomenally successful singing career. In 2006, his album, “Reprise de Negociations,” was a top seller in Europe, and led to several major music industry awards the following year.
Also, providing their own unique take on the 1984 pop hit, “You Might Think” (written by Ric Ocasek and originally performed by The Cars) is the chart-topping, multi-platinum-selling American alternative rock band Weezer. Weezer burst on the scene in 1992, and has produced nine albums to date. “The song is going to play in the scene where Lightning McQueen and Mater go to Japan,” says Weezer’s Brian Bell, “which is great for us because it sort of mirrors our experiences in Japan—there was a little bit of culture shock.”

According to amazon's listing of the soundtrack, there are 26 tracks all together including Michael Giacchino's musical score. Director John Lasseter said this "Michael is doing such a cool score for the film. We did not want to do a typical spy movie score. We wanted it to be something very different–a whole new approach.”

Cars 2 releases in theaters June 24th, as I'm counting down the days. Almost there, guys! And of course, the soundtrack becomes available on June 14th.

Kevin Reher, the producer of the pixar shorts "Day & Night" and "Partly Cloudy" will be producer of "La Luna".
